The Friends of the Libraries is overjoyed to host New York Times-bestselling author and North Carolina native Jason Mott as he discusses his novel Hell of a Book, winner of the National Book Award for Fiction.
Mott headlines the FOL Fall Reception on Sept. 15, 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. in the Duke Energy Hall at the Hunt Library. Register now to enjoy an evening with the acclaimed author, a presentation of the Libraries Faculty Awards, recognition of new FOL Life Members, and a show-and-tell of archival treasures from our Special Collections Research Center.
Mott’s first novel, The Returned, was also a New York Times bestseller and was turned into a successful television series. He has a BFA in Fiction and an MFA in Poetry, both from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Hell of a Book tells two captivating stories in alternating chapters about a novelist on a book tour and a child named Soot who speaks to him in mysterious riddles.
Copies of Hell of a Book will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
